Privacy Policy

SparkWhy is still being built, and this website does one thing: it takes waitlist signups. This policy covers only the information this website collects. The product has its own, much longer privacy policy, and that one is published before any family uses the device.
What we collect
Only what you type into the waitlist form:
- Your email address — required.
- Your child's age range — optional. Leaving it on "Prefer not to say" is a complete answer.
That is the entire list of what you type. This site runs no scripts, sets no cookies, and loads no analytics or advertising trackers. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details, and we do not build a profile of you. Separately from anything you type, the company that hosts this site records the standard request details your browser sends on every visit — including your IP address and browser user-agent — in its server logs, and uses them to serve the page and to screen waitlist submissions for spam. We do not read those logs to identify visitors, and nothing on this site links them to you.
Why we collect it
Your email address is used for one purpose: to write to you when the closed beta opens and when SparkWhy becomes available. The optional age range only helps us decide which families to invite to the beta first. Neither is used for advertising.
Where it is stored
The form is handled by Netlify, Inc., the hosting provider that serves this page. Your submission is stored in Netlify Forms and emailed to the SparkWhy founders. Netlify screens every submission for spam using Akismet, a filtering service run by Automattic, so your submission also passes through Akismet as part of that check. Those are the only companies that receive it. If that ever changes — for example, if we move the list to an email-sending service before launch — we will update this policy first.
How long we keep it
We keep your entry until you ask us to remove it, or until the waitlist has done its job. At launch, waitlist entries move into our mailing list, which asks you to confirm before it sends you anything further — if you do not confirm, we stop emailing you.
Deleting your information
Email hello@sparkwhy.ai and ask us to remove you. We delete your entry within 7 days and reply to confirm. There is no account to close, and you do not have to give a reason.
Children
This waitlist is for parents and other adults. Children should not enter their own information on this website, and SparkWhy does not knowingly collect personal information from children here. If you believe a child has submitted information through this form, email hello@sparkwhy.ai and we will delete it.
The device itself is a different matter: it is designed to be set up by a parent, with a parent's consent, and it is covered by its own policy rather than this one.
Changes
If this policy changes before launch, we update the effective date at the top of this page.
